Summary of Early Season Thrips Management Trials in Peanut

Thimet at 5 lbs/acre, Orthene at 10 oz/acre.  Thrips damage at application for peanut without Thimet was 3.25 to 3.5 (scale 5) and 0.25 to 0.5 (scale 5) for Thimet-treated peanut.
Peanut stunting (combination of thrips feeding and herbicide injury) 1 and 2 weeks after treatment caused by mixtures of herbicides and Dual Magnum applied postemergence. Data are pooled over insecticide treatments and two locations.
