Update on Worm Control From Rick Brandenburg
While I am sure there are a few fields that have some worms in them, pressure so far has been light. That could change, but there are no widespread problems. The old threshold of 4 per row foot is probably too low for today’s varieties especially given the 70% control we get with pyrethroids and the high cost of the other products. Some areas are also a bit dry right now and the use of a pyrethroid insecticide spray would make me a bit nervous right now.
