Paraquat and Glyphosate at Emergence Peanut Notes No. 39 2018

— Written By

Paraquat can be applied prior to, during and within 28 days after emergence. Use the burndown rate prior to cracking and the lower, in-season rate during and after cracking. If it looks like peanuts are cracking, even just beginning to see the soil look that way, do not apply the burndown rate of paraquat or any rate of glyphosate. This is too risky. If cracking or later, apply paraquat with Basagran at 0.5 pints/acre. The best timing for paraquat is 2-3 weeks after emergence with hopes that PPI and PRE herbicides were effective.
