I was asked if a grower could apply the following in the tank:
Manganese, Boron, Provost Silver, and Kudos.
Part of my answer was that Kudos needs water conditioner (I use liquid ammonium sulfate) and either crop oil concentrate or 80/20 nonionic surfactant. With those in place too, the farmer would be up to six products in the tank. If the formulation is Kudos OD, my recommendation is to apply only the water conditioner and adjuvant recommended by the Kudos OD manufacturer. If using Kudos WDG or other dry formulations of prohexadione calcium, there is more flexibility in tank-mix partners.
Assuming Kudos WDG, here is how I would make the applications.- Provost Silver plus manganese
- Kudos WDG plus liquid AMS plus crop oil concentrate plus boron
I am always going to discourage the mixing of boron and manganese. I have seen issues with those, most notably the dry materials. With that said, I know folks are applying liquid boron and manganese products and not having issues. I encourage you to look at 2025 Peanut Information for a discussion about what liquid formulations are delivering based on what the plant needs compared with the old dry materials.
*While crop injury and poor pest control are concerns with some tank mixtures, in a case like this, my primary concern is keeping the products in solution. Water quality (hard or soft, low or high pH, etc.) is a major wild card when it comes to mixing.
