Mixing Cadre, Manganese, Insecticide, and Fungicide Peanut Notes No. 140 2025

Question:

Have some Valencia peanuts. First fungicide spray is needed. Can I add 3 ounces Cadre?

Tank mixture would include:

3 oz Cadre

6.4 ounces bifenthrin for leaf hoppers 1/2 rate of manganese 5.5 ounces Lucento or Alto plus Folicur

Is this okay? Probably do not need the bifenthrin now. Would chlorothalonil plus Alto be better? Save Lucento for 2nd or 3rd spray?

Jordan:

That is a lot in the tank. Cadre requires 80/20 nonionic surfactant at 1 quart per 100 gallons. I would apply Cadre plus surfactant plus insecticide first. Then come back with fungicide plus manganese. Chlorothalonil plus Alto is a good first spray. I would save Lucento for one of middle sprays when leaf spot and stem rot are both present.

Follow Up:

Leaf hoppers aren’t bad right now, so could skip bifenthrin. Do I still need to split herbicide and fungicide sprays?

Jordan:

I would split them out.

If you have Palmer amaranth, common ragweed or eclipta, Ultra Blazer or Cobra needs to be added to Cadre.
