Many folks ask about mixing a range of products during this time of the season. For example, I spoke to one person and told them that Miravis plus Elatus was compatible with manganese. I have mixed these before and not observed an issue. However, I am very often mixing a 3 gallon can or a 3 liter bottle and I am shaking the solution as I go. A key to mixing is to make sure the dry materials go into solution first. Patience is needed, especially with dry formulations of manganese. Turns out the farmer was using a liquid manganese product, so the issue was more related to not creating a slurry with the Elatus (or at the very least having good agitation and adding the product slowly.)

I often get questions about 4 and 5-way mixes this time of the year. We have looked at only a small fraction of the possible combinations. My biggest concern is not always less control or more peanut injury, but whether or not the constituents will settle in the tank. With complicated mixtures, it is important to take the time to make sure each new addition goes into solution. You are saving a lot of time with tank mixtures, but you can lose a lot of time cleaning out a tank. Not to mention needing to find a place to dispose of many acres worth of settled-out product.
Also, not all water is the same, and when we discuss what is compatible, we don't always know what the water quality is like. That is a wild card.
