I’ve heard reports over the last year or so about peanut yields being lower when planted the year following white potato. In some cases, growers plant soybeans right after potato harvest. The soybeans could certainly increase pathogens going into the peanut crop. There could be disease issues with potato going to peanuts. But I’m not aware of a major culprit. Potatoes do require considerable fertility. There is a chance rates of potassium used for potato carry forward into peanuts and cause calcium nutrition issues and increased risk of pod rot. Similar to sage, it is best to have a year or two of cotton or corn between white potatoes and peanuts.
