Have you ever seen peanuts die from dry weather or is a combination of weather and thrips? I mean these are really small peanut plants that have emerged a little later.

I have seen some plants almost die from several stresses. But peanuts are so resilient, if there is any green matter in the growing point, they will come back. I suspect they are investing in root systems to capture moisture. However, the combination of drought, thrips damage, and Valor injury have really set some peanuts back. It is very rare for me to see drought kill a peanut. I'm not sure I have seen that early in the season. I have seen some peanuts look dead due to drought in late summer. Sometimes even then they can come back. In most years and fields, peanuts don't experience all three stresses - thrips, Valor, drought. I hope we get a shower to revive the crop soon. A challenge is weeds keep growing and peanuts are stressed and we have to do something. Paraquat and PPO herbicides can burn the crop some, but we have to keep the weeds from getting away from us.

If they have some green, they will very likely bounce back.
