Question:

If I apply Kudos in the same tank mix with Provost, will this mix decrease the effectiveness of either product? Should this be the order?

What formulation of Kudos are you using?

If you are using Kudos OD, do not add anything to the tank other than ammonium sulfate and either crop oil or 80/20 surfactant. We see burn with many of the tank-mix partners, especially Provost Silver. Always put in the ammonium sulfate first as a water conditioner.

If you are using Kudos WDG, you can mix with other products like Provost Silver.

AMS then Kudos then Provost Silver then 80/20 surfactant as you have outlined should be fine. Make sure agitation is good at each step.

I do think you can leave off the 80/20 surfactant. Years ago, we showed that Apogee with a nitrogen source was just as effective as Apogee with nitrogen and crop oil. More recently, we have observed the same thing with Kudos OD. Ammonium sulfate is the key component in making Prohexadione calcium work.

If I’m spraying any formulation of Prohexadione calcium without other products, I use liquid ammonium sulfate and crop oil concentrate. If I want to add a fungicide or insecticide or micronutrient, I recommend ammonium sulfate only to avoid any potential surprises with burn.

Add ammonium sulfate to the tank first.

Follow Up:

I read that boron would create a problem with Kudos/Provost mix. Do not know about including manganese.

As long as you are using a dry formulation (Kudos WDG), you should be okay with boron or manganese. I would not put both micronutrients out at the same time.

I would leave off the surfactant or crop oil with the mixtures.
