Prohexadione Calcium Applied Late to Large Peanuts Peanut Notes No. 198 2024

Question:

Have a grower who did not get his Apogee out before the rain and the vines are thick and tangled up now, is there any benefit to putting out Apogee now?  What is the cost per acre?
Jordan:

No value at this point. Apogee keeps internodes from elongating. It would be like putting on mepiquat chloride on cotton now. Cost is $30 per acre for a single application. The value in pod retention can be holding on pods in soil but also as vines come through the inverter. Apogee certainly won’t shrink plants. It’s too late for it now. Several folks have asked this.
