Question:
Got a grower thinking about cutting out Proline, what’s your thoughts?I was thinking that would be a good spot to cut with the newer varieties seemingly not affected by CBR.
Jordan:
Yes, I think you can leave that off. The value historically has been protection from CBR. Barbara Shew did some work on this early on and then we had trials together. There were measurable reductions in CBR but not like metam sodium. With our current varieties and not seeing a lot of CBR, you should be able to leave that off. The caveat is rotation. If there are a lot of soybean in the rotation in recent years you might want to stack things your way by applying this product. If it has been 3 or more years since peanuts or soybean, you likely will not get a response to this fungicide.
