Question:

The question was posed about using PGR following this tropical storm. We have had between 7 and 10 inches of rainfall conservatively. With the ground saturated, would it be worth an application of PGR? I think the plants will slow down in growth and yellow up some and may "act" like a PGR which may negate the need for an application of PGR. I've never been asked this before and I wanted to see if you have experienced this before.

When I have sprayed prohexadione calcium (Apogee, for example) well past optimum timing, there was no benefit in vine suppression and row visibility. If peanuts are only a week past timing of first spray, there will be some suppression. I would make a repeat spray in fields that had a timely first spray.
