Grower mistakenly applied 3 tons of broiler litter on peanut ground which has a well established cereal cover crop - would you abandon the peanut planting? Think he has other shorter rotation fields maybe that at least have less litter.

Can farmer check pH and zinc? If pH is 6.5 or greater, okay with 1,000 index or lower. If pH is 6.0 to 6.5, index should not exceed 500. pH less than 6.0, index should not exceed 250.

How do I convert index to pounds/acre?

We have managed zinc with lime. Land is 2 to 3 years corn with 2 tons litter followed by peanut. Very seldom do we have zinc toxicity symptoms, and yields are most often 2.5 - 3 tons.
