Note sent to Agents in North Carolina on the morning of October 29
If you can send out information quickly, let your farmers know that it is best to stop digging today. We likely will have a significant frost/freeze early next week and conditions are not great for drying. My impression is there is a chance throughout the coastal plain of North Carolina and into South Carolina.
The crop report for last week (that you may not have seen until this past Tuesday) did not anticipate the fog and dew and poor drying and the tropical weather. I wish I could get that one back.
