Apply 8 ounces of Basagran with Gramoxone to reduce injury. There is little advantage to a higher rate of Basagran for safening. However, a higher rate of Basagran can improve control of certain broadleaf weeds and yellow nutsedge, but I have observed less grass control with Gramoxone when the rate of Basagran is increased. Include 1 pint per 100 gallons of nonionic surfactant with Gramoxone plus Basagran. Including residual herbicides like Dual Magnum, Outlook, Warrant, Zidua and Anthem Flex can increase injury 10 to 30% but the increase is generally transient. Of these herbicides, Anthem Flex tends to cause the most injury. However, the value of extended weed control far exceeds concerns over the transient increase in injury caused by these residual herbicides. DO NOT apply Gramoxone plus Basagran if peanuts have significant injury from thrips feeding.
