We can expect reasonably good yields when peanuts are planted in early June. Of course, we see variation from year to year. For example, in Peanut Notes No. 91, our data from 2013-2016 showed that planting in mid-May was on-average better than planting in early or late May. Data in the link below show more variation, with peanut planted in early May 2022 yielding much higher than  plantings in middle or late May. That’s why our general recommendation is plant in May. Early June plantings drop off some but not in every year. Planting in mid-June and certainly late June caused significant reductions in yield. However, the magnitude was specific to the year.
