I often refer to information from other states when making recommendations. There are excellent research and extension specialists across the peanut belt. I have provided links to information from UGA that are referred to as Quick Reference Guides. Keep in mind that runner market types are grown in Georgia and there are some differences in practices for this market type compared to Virginia market types. Growing conditions and production constraints differ to a degree when comparing states, and peanut growers in Georgia irrigate a lot more of their acreage than we do in North Carolina. However, many of the basic principles for peanut production apply to both market types.
