Thrips Control After Peanuts Emerge Peanut Notes No. 77 2024

Question:

I have a grower who forgot to put imidacloprid in furrow this year. The peanuts are up and have a lot of thrips. Is there anything better than acephate to use or should we stick with that. We had trouble in this area controlling thrips with acephate in cotton last year.

Jordan:

If there is any doubt on acephate resistance, spray Radiant SC plus 80/20 surfactant at 1 quart per 100 gallons. This product is as good as acephate.

We have looked at 3 oz rate.
