LeAnn, Dan, and David, if you had gotten behind on sprays for leaf spot, what products do you think would give the best curative activity? Some growers have gotten behind due to rain and conditions have been favorable for the pathogen causing leaf spot disease to develop for a few weeks. I’d like to post your answers on our NC State Extension portal as soon as I can. Thanks!

I’d go with Provost Silver for sure.

All puns aside, I would “Echo” the use of Provost Silver as a standalone product; should folks be interested in and willing to do a combination, it plus micronized sulfur would be a robust option for additional activity, though mixing and sourcing logistics can be their own situation.

Thanks! That was my thought as well. I have been recommending Provost Silver. I will include the sulfur with the recommendation but that is a hard sell logistically.

I would agree, Provost Silver, based on the previous conversations with you all and Dr. Jordan’s trials this past year as well, Provost Silver as a rescue treatment performed very well.

Thanks everyone. I would also encourage people that are behind on the spray not to rely on Miravis plus Elatus for curative action or chlorothalonil plus tebuconazole. My understanding is that these two options are only protecting from the pathogen and have no reach back. This does not mean that these two approaches are not good options. It just means when you are behind anything that helps overcome that may be required. These and many other options can be included when sprays are on time.
