How late can Paraquat be applied to Peanuts at Cracking and beyond? What is the highest rate that you would recommend?
Jordan:11 oz paraquat plus 8 oz Basagran. Nonionic surfactant at 1 pint/100 gallons. Can be applied up to 28 days after peanut emergence. Generally best about 2-3 weeks after emergence because weeds are smaller. Avoid spraying if significant thrips injury. Can add a group 15 residual herbicide. I would not apply paraquat without Basagran.
Also, check formulation. If higher amount of paraquat per gallon, 8 oz is maximum rate.
