Correction From Field Day Peanut Notes No. 261 2025

(Updated: Sept. 25, 2025, 2:46 a.m.)

We had a good plot tour and discussion about numerous issues associated with peanut production and pest management. On the tour, I showed plots from our disease and delayed digging trial. I thought I remembered the plot order but was mistaken. I erroneously labeled the best treatment as a the one with Provost Silver plus micronized sulfur as a “rescue” treatment. The best treatment, as expected, was the full-season fungicide program. The “rescue” treatment will help limit defoliation to a degree, but not nearly as much as what was shown yesterday with the incorrect treatment assigned to the best plot.

Thanks to everyone who came and to the folks at the Peanut Belt Research Station for all the help this year.
