2,4-DB is often applied as a complement to other herbicides to broaden the spectrum of control. It is also applied alone to suppress Palmer amaranth and sicklepod. Two sprays of 2,4-DB, spaced 10-14 days apart at approximately 1 pint/acre for each spray, will often suppress these weeds well enough to minimize interference, reduce seed production and decrease issues with digging pods and inverting vines. Control is not complete but it is certainly measurable and important when these weeds get away from us. 2,4-DB also controls large entireleaf morningglory (hairy leaves), ivyleaf morningglory, and tall morninggloiry. It does not control pitted morningglory (slick and pointed leaves). One reason why 2,4-DB complements Cobra, Storm, and Ultra Blazer well is because the opposite is true for morningglory control by these herbicides compared with 2,4-DB. 2,4-DB by itself does really well on cocklebur.

2,4-DB is compatible with all of the fungicides and insecticides I have looked at and it does not reduce grass control by clethodim in an appreciable manner (clethodim is applied often later in the season for grass control.) 2,4-DB is compatible with boron but in some cases not with manganese products. 2,4-DB was compatible with prohexadione calcium in all the research I have conducted.
