Peanut acres are just over 80% planted. 89% of peanuts are listed in good condition, with 4% excellent and 7% fair. Temperatures for the week ahead and into next are slated to stay hot with highs at and above 90, though we may see some rain at the end of this week. Things are relatively quiet at the time being. A few fields in the Branchville area were drying out from low spots being wet from rain.
Attached are a few pictures of early season symptoms from the last week including Aspergillus crown rot, thrips injury, Thimet/phorate phytotoxicity and tomato spotted wilt symptoms.
