Rick and I have discussed insecticide sprays for corn earworm, tobacco budworm and fall armyworm. The threshold at this time of the year is 8 per foot using a beat cloth. With the vegetation we have this year due to adequate rains peanuts can withstand a substantial amount of feeding on leaves and not sacrifice yield. Eight per foot is a tremendously high population. Pyrethroids do not control tobacco budworms well and corn earworms generally have about 40% resistance in their populations.
