Question:
What would be your comfort level applying Cadre plus Dual on peanuts that were between 45-75 days where the grower has extreme nutsedge problems and is adamant about doing something? We have used Basagran several times in some fields. It has done a decent job, but he is not satisfied. I have used Cadre later at times but didn’t know if we could use Dual for suppression after pegging without hurting the developing nuts.
Jordan:
Cadre will control what is there. If you spray Cadre, you do not need Dual for nutsedge. Peanuts should be okay with Cadre. It does take a lot of nutsedge to reduce yield but if grower is adamant, Cadre plus 80/20 surfactant should work. It will take a few weeks before the nutsedge melts away.
