Summary of Apogee/Kudos Research at NC State University
David Jordan, NC State University
Research has been conducted since 1994
Almost always improves row visibility
Main stem height is almost always shorter
Not mobile in the plant, so good coverage is essential
Compatible with most pesticides and micronutrients
Nitrogen as an adjuvant is essential
Performance by Apogee and Kudos the same
With older varieties tended to see more increases in yield with Apogee
Holds the more mature pods on longer
Does not hasten maturity
Very few instances of yield increases in small plots with Bailey
More recent research focus on rates and number of applications
Less expensive now than when initially marketed
Current price makes Apogee or Kudos attractive
Approximately 50% of growers in the North Carolina and Virginia making at least one application
