Sicklepod can be a challenge to control in peanuts. If you are still within 28 days after peanuts emerge and the sicklepod is small (2-3 inches,) paraquat is a good option. If sicklepod is larger, the only two options are Cadre or sequential applications of 2,4-DB. Cadre will control sicklepod that has emerged and will provide good residual control for the balance of the season. The challenge with Cadre for many growers is carryover of residues from this herbicide to cotton the following year. In my experience there is an issue with carryover at least 25% of the time. You can plant corn and soybeans after peanuts when Cadre has been applied. Sequential applications of 2,4-DB are good but not always completely effective. Cobra, Ultra Blazer, Storm, and Basagran do not control sicklepod.
